WHAT IS DASPAY AND HOW IT WORKS; THE LAUNCH OF DASPAY

DasPay, often referred to as "THE SILVER BULLET" of the NetLeaders Project is set to Launch today 30th June, 2018 in Barcelona. DasPay is one of the leading product of Dascoin and the whole Dascoin project has genuinely been Mind-blowing

DasPay will help users to spend cryptocurrency directly from their wallet. With DasPay you’ll actually be spending your tokens to pay for goods and services across the globe with your mobile phone.

How DasPay Works

NetLeaders Partnered with CARTA WORLD WIDE to make Daspay work. CARTA WORLD WIDE has been at the fore of Seamless payment processing. They are the Brains behind the top Payment Processors like:

Vodafone Pay

MasterCard

PayPal

Uber

Google Play

Apple Pay

Visa Electron

Carta was the first company to process an Apple Pay transaction and the first to enable the PayPal account to work at point-of-sale level. Brian said: “A number of the companies we work with are disrupting the way banks are operating and it is a result of that disruption that these companies are excelling.”

DasPay seeks to allow DasNet users to use their digital currency to pay for goods and services across the world, where Visa and MasterCard are accepted. That means DasPay will be accepted at over 60 million merchants across the globe.

With this, Merchants will not even have to know that they are processing a crypto currency transaction. They will only need to be working with either MasterCard or Visa. And then NetLeaders blockchain technology will step in behind the interface to confirm the buyer has enough funds in their WebWallet account to allow the process to complete. This process will take just six seconds.

The Visa and MasterCard partnership also means merchants do not have to replace or purchase additional Point of Sale terminals to accept DasCoin. Plus, using the physical cards will add an extra layer of security to the transactions.

Still, the DasNet blockchain will generate a ledger of the transactions and allow merchants to keep a foolproof record of the transactions.

Dascoin Bridging the gap between SECURITY and PRIVACY

DasPay has a KYC(Know Your Customer) feature to help make things easier since it is a Marketplace product, It will help to know which particular customer to make refunds to in cases where the customer wants a cash back due to dissatisfaction with the product or services provided by the seller. This will also help to reduce Fraud to a large extent.

While users will need to be authenticated before they can use DasNet services, their true identity will be obscured automatically by the company’s Consortium Blockchain. This will be done to preserve their privacy and boost security in all transactions.

Do You Travel A Lot? Here Is How DasPay Can Apply To You

Now imagine you traveling to any country without having to think about going to exchange your currency to the local currency of the country you are traveling to. HOW TO GET YOUR FIRST 100K FOLLOWERS ON INSTAGRAM

1

Choose a theme for your profile. Themes do two very important things: they focus and organize your content, and they ensure that people will always know the general persuasion of the content they're going to see on your profile.

Themes can also help streamline your content creation process, since having some boundaries is often better than having none at all.

2

Add a relevant, informative bio. Your bio should mention your theme, your website (if you have one), and something interesting about you or your process.

Everyone has something that makes how or why they do what they do interesting—find yours and mention it here!

You can also add tags to your bio if you have a specific tag associated with your content.

3

Use a captivating profile picture. If you have something that captures the essence of your theme, your content, and your personality, use it. If not, find something that comes close—people should be able to take a look at your profile picture and your bio and know approximately what to expect.

4

Link your Instagram to social media. You can link Instagram to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and more, allowing you to post your Instagram information anywhere that you frequent. In this way, you'll be able to pull in more follows from people who already follow you on these other social media platforms.

5

Never make your Instagram posts private. One downside of attempting to garner Instagram growth is that you can't protect your account against people who you don't know, as doing so will alienate future followers. Keep your account public and easily followable, and you'll have a stream of follows trickling in.

Part Two of Three:
Engaging Other Users

1

Follow people who share interests with you. While it's okay to follow as many people as possible in an attempt to get them to follow you back, try following accounts that post things that can inspire you (and vice versa). These accounts will be more likely to follow you back, making your time-use much more efficient than if you indiscriminately followed people.

2

Like people's photos. For every 100 likes that you leave, you'll get around 8 follows back, provided that you like photos on average, non-celebrity accounts.

While you most likely won't be able to climb your way to 1000 followers on this method alone, it's a good place to start.

3

Leave meaningful comments on photos. It's a well-documented fact that commenting on people's Instagram photos leads to an upswing in followers. Unfortunately, this also means that a lot of people will leave one- or two-word responses on photos in hopes of receiving a follow. Leaving a well-thought-out comment will increase the odds of the creator following you back.

On a DIY home office photo, for example, you might say "Wow, I love what you've done with your office! Would love to see a tutorial!" instead of "Nice" or "Looks good".

4

Message users who have a low number of followers. Sometimes it's best to leave a considerate message for someone whose content you enjoy; not only will this most likely make their day, it will also encourage them to follow you, especially if you already followed them.

Keep in mind that messaging someone can be seen as an intrusion on their privacy. Be polite and respectful when messaging other users.

Never ask for a follow from someone whom you message.

5

Post consistently. As the people who follow you will come to find out, you may only post once a week—and that's fine! However, if you have a reputation for posting once a week, stick to that model (or even post more often occasionally). Failing to meet your established posting schedule will result in losing followers.

This is less a method for gaining followers and more a method for retaining the ones that you have.

Try not to post more than a couple of times per day.

6

Post at the right time of day. Mornings (7 AM to 9 AM), early afternoon (11 AM to 2 PM), and mid-evening (5 PM to 7 PM) are all peak activity areas for Instagram, so try posting during these times.[1]

These times are based on ET (Eastern Time), so you may need to adjust to fit your timezone.

If you can't make these times, don't worry—several studies have shown that posting during these times, while helpful, is not a deal-breaker.

Part Three of Three:
Tagging Your Photos

1

Use tags in all of your photos. A common way of tagging involves writing a description, putting several spaces under the description (often using periods as place-holders), and then tagging as much as is relevant.

2

Experiment with popular tags. Places like https://top-hashtags.com/instagram/ list the top 100 hashtags of the day, so try placing a few of these in your posts' description boxes.

Keep in mind that some tags are bound to be so popular that they make your post hard to find.

Don't exclusively use popular tags.

3

Create your own hashtag. If you like, you can create your own hashtag, or take one that's not used all that much and make it your own. Try working this tag into as many posts as possible as a sort of signature for your profile.

4

Geotag your pictures. Geotagging your photos means including the location where the picture was taken in the post, which will allow people in the surrounding areas to find your photos.

5

Avoid using unrelated tags. Don't place tags that don't pertain to your photos in the description, as doing so is often considered spam.

FIVE THINGS CHELSEA NEEDS TO FIX IN ORDER TO WIN AGAINST BARCELONA

Chelsea overcame their usual struggles to defeat Crystal Palace on Saturday. Now they must apply what they learned to extend their usual success against Barcelona in the Champions League.

Chelsea put in a solid performance against Crystal Palace, scoring two goals in the first half and creating plenty of chances. However, once the second half started and the opposition brought on Wilfried Zaha, the Blues looked uneasy. Here are five things Antonio Conte should take to heart as he puts the finishing touches on his preparation for Barcelona and continues the Premier League run-in.

1. A striker is a must to win games
Chelsea’s offensive tactics are highly reliant on a striker being on the field. During his entire outing against Crystal Palace, Olivier Giroud’s role was vital and he made the Blues dangerous. Having a striker on the field also helped Eden Hazard and Willian run with the ball and take on defenders.
The difference was crystal clear. Antonio Conte’s men had a total of 27 shots with 11 on target. And although Hazard can play the false-nine role and Conte has shown his preference for it in some situations, the contrast of having a “real nine” is undeniable.
Chelsea need to keep winning games week in and week out. Therefore, to score more goals and get the right results, they need a striker on the field. On top of that, Chelsea are trailing one away goal against Barcelona. Barcelona is almost certain to score on their home ground, so to move to the next round, the Blues need goals. The only lingering question at this point is who will it be: Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud?

2. N’Golo Kante makes all the difference
Kante was absent against Manchester City, and with the defensive tactics Antonio Conte implemented, the game could have been a different one had he been healthy. However, he was back against Crystal Palace, and was lively and kept the midfield in his back pocket. The French international is key to stopping the opposition’s build-up and counter-attacks. Against Barcelona, Kante will have a major role to play.

Furthermore, Cesc Fabregas, Danny Drinkwater and Tiemoue Bakayoko simply are not fast players. Kante provides Chelsea with speed on the breakaway. Once he presses the opposition and gains the ball, it does not take much from him to run forward and make a pass. This type of movement allows the attackers to do their job and keep the defense on their heels.

3. Eden Hazard needs to pull the trigger
Chelsea created plenty of chances on Sunday and Eden Hazard was a big part of that. However, Hazard seemed too unselfish at times. Although he is Chelsea’s top goal scorer this season, there is no doubt he should have added to his tally against Palace.
Too often the Belgian waits for the perfect opportunity to take his shot. But a gap in the defense is enough for someone of his caliber to score. If anyone should score against Barcelona on Wednesday, it is Hazard. Chelsea will need him as sharp and deadly as possible.

4. The defense still needs some work
The Blues almost had a perfect game on their hands. However, the team conceded a goal in the second half on another individual error.

Although the back line looked solid for the majority of the match, it only takes a second to throw everything out the window. The defense needs to be assertive for the remainder of the season and pay attention to the details. But more importantly, it must not panic under pressure to avoid childish mistakes.

5. Alvaro Morata lacks mental composure

Although Alvaro Morata was only on the field for a short period of time, the Spaniard earned yet another yellow card. Equally concerning, he did not have much of an impact and did not scare the opposition’s defense in any way. And if that wasn’t all, Morata was lucky to stay on the field after slapping the linesman’s flag off of his hand.
If Morata wants to earn his spot back in the team, he needs to keep his cool and focus on the game, not arguing.

Chelsea travel to the Camp Nou on Wednesday for their biggest game of the season so far. The Blues need a perfect performance from every aspect. But if all goes according to plan, Antonio Conte’s men have every chance to beat Barcelona in their own house and move to the next round of the Champions League.

Health Hazards of Using a Bluetooth Headset

Cell phones emit RF radiations which affect human health adversely. These radiations can be categorized as thermal, non-thermal and genotoxical. Researchers have found that high exposure to RF radiations can cause brain tumor and problems like headache, fatigue & difficulty in concentration. Bringing cell phones close to head causes more exposure to RF radiation. Thus, it is advisable to use earphones and Bluetooth headsets as they emit fewer radiations. When you use earphones or Bluetooth headsets, you are less exposed to such radiations as direct radiations from the mobile phone antenna get reduced.

Devices such as Bluetooth headsets emit wireless microwave radiation. Microwave signals have shorter wavelengths and a rapid rate of oscillation which enables them to carry information over long distances without wires. Their short wavelength and rapid oscillation also helps them to penetrate living tissues down to the cellular level. Soviet Russia used this characteristic of microwave signals against U.S. when it developed dangerous weapons in 1950s. These weapons caused leukemia in people. This indicates that even microwave radiations used in wireless communication can cause severe health damages. Microwave radiations from Bluetooth devices cause biological changes in body. These biological changes take place at cellular level and can transmit to offspring via DNA and RNA.

Another type of danger that is being caused by Bluetooth headsets is distraction while driving vehicles. According to a survey that I conducted on Bluetooth headset users, about 70 % of users take calls while driving. Distraction or lack of attention while driving may cause accidents, especially during bad weather conditions, bad mood or heavy traffic.

Health hazards caused by Bluetooth devices :
Though, communicating using Bluetooth devices is preferred over cell phone devices, Bluetooth devices are not entirely safe. Long term exposure to microwave signals from Bluetooth devices can cause so many health hazards. I have discussed some potential hazards below.

Ear Pain: Ear pain is one of the health hazards caused by prolonged use of Bluetooth headsets. Bluetooth headsets clipped in to ear's outer portion cause pain due to their weight. The uncomfortable sit of Bluetooth headsets can also cause ear-pain. You can use cushions and weight less Bluetooth headsets to avoid discomfort.

Hearing loss: It is another side effect of Bluetooth headsets. Headset volume can be tuned to higher levels but you should know that sounds louder than 85dB can cause hearing loss. To protect your hearing ability, keep the volume low.

Weight gain: Electromagnetic frequencies and radiations interrupt the natural energy flow of body. According to the King institute, repeated exposure to this type of radiation can also cause weight gain.

Brain cancer:When we use Bluetooth headsets, we are bringing these devices close to head. Individuals who use this device continually get affected by its radiations even when the device is not in use. Even small doses of such radiations affect brain cells and can cause brain cancer.

Leukemia: It is another hazard of using Bluetooth technology. Radiations coming from Bluetooth devices are not as strong as microwave radiations but their continued exposure can result in Leukemia, low immunity system and diseases.

Other side effects: Bluetooth radiations may affect individuals differently but problems arise basically because microwave radiations interrupt cell functioning and natural transmission of energy. Some other side effects associated with microwave radiations are birth defects, miscarriage, hair loss, Alzheimer disease, neck pain, and headache.

Conclusion :
On the basis of my study, I conclude that Bluetooth communications are unsafe. Bluetooth radiations are safer than the radiations emitted by cell phones but these radiations too cause dangerous health hazards. Lack of formal studies are the reason why we see Bluetooth communication as safe but further research over this matter can prove how Bluetooth technology is playing with our health.

ADSENSE AUTO ADS; WHAT IT IS AND HOW TO SET UP

Finding the time to create great content for your users is an essential part of growing your publishing business. Today we are introducing AdSense Auto ads, a powerful new way to place ads on your site. Auto ads use machine learning to make smart placement and monetization decisions on your behalf, saving you time. Place one piece of code just once to all of your pages, and let Google take care of the rest.
Some of the benefits of Auto ads include:

Optimization: Using machine learning, Auto ads show ads only when they are likely to perform well and provide a good user experience.

Revenue opportunities: Auto ads will identify any available ad space and place new ads there, potentially increasing your revenue.

Easy to use: With Auto ads you only need to place the ad code on your pages once. When you’re ready to use new features and ad formats, simply turn them on and off with the flick of a switch -- there’s no need to change the code again.

How do Auto ads work?

Select the ad formats you want to show on your pages by switching them on with a simple toggle

Place the Auto ads code on your pages

Auto ads will now start working for you by analyzing your pages, finding potential ad placements, and showing new ads when they’re likely to perform well and provide a good user experience.
And if you want to have different formats on different pages you can use the new Advanced URL settings feature (e.g. you can choose to place In-feed ads on exampleurl.com/games but not on exampleurl.com/sports).
Getting started with AdSense Auto ads
Auto ads can work equally well on new sites and on those already showing ads.
Have you manually placed ads on your page? There’s no need to remove them if you don’t want to. Auto ads will take into account all existing Google ads on your pages.

Already using Anchor or Vignette ads? Auto ads include Anchor and Vignette ads and many more additional formats such as Text and display, In-feed, and Matched content. Note that all users that used Page-level ads are automatically migrated over to Auto ads without any need to add code to their pages again.

To get started with AdSense Auto ads:

Sign in to your AdSense account.

In the left navigation panel, visit My ads and select Get Started.

On the "Choose your global settings" page, select the ad formats that you'd like to show and click Save.

WHATSAPP SMALL BUSINESSES APP

Just as Businesses on Facebook have the Facebook Pages Manager application, and businesses on Messenger have Analytics for Apps data for their Messenger bots. And now, Whatsapp has developed a tool for Business Owners.

The Facebook-owned messaging app announced the launch of WhatsApp Business, a free Android application for small business owners on the platform, which it originally discussed last September.

WhatsApp Business is available via Google Play in Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, the U.K. and the U.S., with a global rollout schedule for “the coming weeks,” and the app’s features include:

Business profiles, which provide information including descriptions, email addresses, store addresses and websites.

Smart messaging tools including quick replies to frequently asked questions, greeting messages to introduce businesses and away messages when no one is available to respond.

“Simple metrics” such as the number of messages read to give businesses an idea of what is and isn’t working.

The ability to send and receive messages via desktop.

Listings as business accounts, which will let people know they are conversing with businesses. WhatsApp added, “Over time, some businesses will have confirmed accounts once it’s been confirmed that the account phone number matches the business phone number.”

WhatsApp said the launch of the WhatsApp Business app will have no effect on the user experience, and people will still have full control and the ability to block any number on the messaging app, including those of businesses, and to report spam.

- A female passenger lost her life after a driver lost control of his matatu while trying to force himself on her

- The Ikolomani driver was drunk and seconds before crushing into a water tunnel and sending the matatu flying in the air, he tried to forcefully kiss the woman

- Three other people were injured in the accident

A woman seated in the middle passenger seat next to the driver of a 14-seater matatu lost her life while trying to fight off an amorous matatu driver.

It emerged that the driver was drunk and he couldn't keep his hands off the dissenting woman.

According to a report by SDE on Friday, January 19, the driver lost control of the vehicle at Shikuyu near Goldmine petrol station along the Sigalagala-Butere Highway in Ikolomani and rammed a water tunnel.

The matatu driver was drunk and driving recklessly. He was also forcing himself on a female passenger beside him. Photo: Courtesy.

The matatu then rolled several times. Three people were severely injured and were rushed to hospital.

A witness, Caroline Musanga, said she was feeding her child when she saw the matatu hit the water tunnel and went flying in the air before it landed in her compound.

"I thank God the kids were not outside or they would have been injured," said Musanga.

A survivor of the accident said the driver was reckless, drunk and kept trying to forcibly kiss the woman beside him.

The survivors were rushed to Kakamega Referral Hospital for specialised treatment. Photo: Standard.

"We tried warning him about his driving but he insulted us back. He even threatened to throw us out of the vehicle. You could also hear him telling the lady how much he loved her and wanted to marry her. Just before the accident, he tried to kiss the woman by force," said the survivor.

The survivors were taken to Kakmega Refferal Hospital for treatment.

ONCE A NATION, NOW AN ABATTOIR; The Nigerian Status-quo

ONCE A NATION, NOW AN ABATTOIR; The
Nigerian Status-quo.

Written By: Godswill Isek

Nigeria, a nation facing series
of social, political and ecomonic unrests, a nation
on the verge of loosing her territorial integrity to a
fast growing intolerance of each of her diverse
tribes of one another, (as parts of its whole
continually clamour for secession). Is now a
HUMAN ABATOIR.

The recent bigoted inhumane
killings, bloodsheds, loss of lives and properties
that's been perpetuated by various sects within the
country has continued to strain the credibility of
the one Nigeria mantra, making it a sham, a
disgraceful pretence and an effort aimed at
unifying an obviously divided whole. Creating
dissonance in the minds of anti-separatists as to
whether forcing the unity of Nigeria as one nation
is a worthwhile decision considering all the
sacrifices that's been made on a daily basis, of
Bloodsheds, deaths and pains which has become
increasingly unbearable.
From the Niger delta
militancy to boko haram insurgences and now the
most barbaric, the Fulani herdsmen attacks, the
country continually face series of threats to the
very humanity and the constituted attachment of
its citizens, not forgetting the continual violation
of her citizen's right to life.

Quickly on the recent
brutal massacres:

From the 1st till 10th of
January, death toll has risen to about a hundred in
Benue state alone as mass burial was organized
by the state governor for the victims (may their
souls rest in peace)

The Fulani herdsmen continue
to destroy lives and properties within the country
and all these the presidency seem to be oblivious
of.

Rather regrettably, Alhaji Lai Mohammed's only
concern is that the Fulani herdsmen shouldn't be
mistaken for a terrorist group like 'IPOB' saying the
fulani herdsmen "are just a gang unlike IPOB". Very
insensitive right? Even if that's the case, is that a
necessary comment when people are lamenting
their loved ones who's lives have been lost due to
attacks from the so called " just gangs" ?
Apparently he cares more about how we view a
group that slices the throats of police officers than
lives of the innocent victims. Sad!

INEC has
released the timetable for the 2019 elections and
our politicians must be polishing new set of lies
and flowery propagandas and of course token gifts
to make Nigerians vote for them.

I won't campaign
for anyone or outrightly condemn voting for
anyone. All I'm saying is: We cannot continue like
this, we cannot continue to live in an abattoir, not
knowing who's next in line to be killed or
butchered.

We cannot continue to vote for leaders
who can't guarantee the average Nigerian access to
the bare minimum requirement for sustenance.

We
cannot continue to vote for leaders who will
continually blame the previous administration for
their failures and re-flag the problems we elected
them to solve, still blaming it on a government we
voted out because we felt they (the incumbent
government) were more capable.

We cannot
continue to recycle APC and PDP, we must begin
to vote for actual competent leaders, regardless of
their affiliated political parties. Ideally We should
be able to see the 'weakest' political party winning
an election just because their flagbearer is the
most qualified.

We cannot continue to sell our
votes by receiving sachets of rice and tins of
tomatoes, in exchange for four years of our lives
and the futures of our children. Because actually,
when you give a government your vote in
exchange for their token gifts, that government is
no longer indebted to you, you have already been
paid for your votes. Thus, you lose your power to
speak out boldly when they begin to joke with your
lives.

Even if we oppose outright secession, we
cannot continue to oppose the restructuring of the
nation if this becomes the last resort to peace and
stability in our nation.

Finally, we must not
continue to relegate the responsibility of making
our society better to the government and the
government alone, we need to get actively
involved, the importance of casting our votes and
fulfilling our democratic duties, getting involved in
social discusses that can engineer positive change
by branding our ideas in a convincing and logically
progressive manner cannot be overemphasized.
We have to first be the change we want to see.

How To Bypass Censorship and Filtering

Bypass Censorship and Filtering?

1. Simplest Solution: Use a VPN

Connect to a virtual private network and all traffic coming from your computer will be redirected over that VPN. In other words, if you’re connected to a VPN located in Iceland, all your network traffic will be redirected to Iceland before it emerges. Replies will be send to the server in Iceland, which will forward them back to you. This all happens over an encrypted connection. All your ISP, network operator, or even your country’s government can see is that you’re making an encrypted VPN connection and sending data over the connection. If they want to block you, they’d have to block VPN connections.

2. DNS Server

This method is the least likely to work, but it’s worth covering here. Some Internet service providers have implemented filtering by changing their DNS servers to redirect requests for the blocked websites to another website. Some places that filter their Internet connections may use something like the web filtering solution offered by OpenDNS.

Assuming the filtering is just at the DNS level and requests to other DNS servers aren’t being blocked, you can get around the filtering by setting a custom DNS server on your device. This overrides and bypasses the default DNS server controlled by your Internet service provider or the organization running the network. Use something like Google Public DNS and you’ll know no DNS-level filtering is taking place.

3. Tor

Tor allows you to browse anonymously. It does this by routing your web browsing over and encrypted network before it emerges at an endpoint, which will likely be in an uncensored, unfiltered location. You shouldn’t use Tor to access sensitive, unencrypted data, but Tor will let you access blocked websites on any connection.

Tor’s developers are fighting a long, unending battle with regimes that attempt to block it, such as Iran. Tor may work even if standard VPNs, proxies, and SSH tunnels won’t.

Note that Tor does have a big downside — it’s much, much slower than typical web browsing. It will allow you to access blocked websites, but it shouldn’t be used for all your day-to-day browsing unless you’re a dissident living in Iran or China.

4. Proxy

Blocked sites can also be accessed using a standard proxy. System-wide (or browser-wide) proxies generally function similarly to VPNs, but they’re not as reliable — for example, they only work with certain programs, not every program on your computer. If you want to pay for a service and send all your traffic over it, you’re better off with a VPN.

However, if you want to quickly access a blocked website, you can try using a web-based proxy. There are many available, including the widely known Hide My Ass. Plug a website’s address into the box on the website and you can access it via the proxy.

This won’t always work, as the proxy itself may be blocked. It’s also not the best experience, as the proxy itself will add advertisements to the page — they have to pay for their free service somehow. However, if you want to quickly access a single blocked site without installing anything or changing any system settings, this may work for you.

MAGIC LEAP ONE HEADSET THAT COST $1.9BILLION AND 6YEARS TO CREATE

Everything we know about Magic Leap's mysterious new headset that cost $1.9 billion and 6 years to create

Magic Leap wants to replace your smartphone, your TV, and your computer with its augmented reality system, Magic Leap One.

After six years of hype videos and nearly $2 billion in funding, the secretive Florida startup that's backed by the likes of Google and Alibaba finally unveiled it's first product this week: Magic Leap One.

It looks nuts.

The Magic Leap One is an augmented reality system.  (Magic Leap)

But, uh, what is it?

Magic Leap One is a futuristic-looking augmented reality headset that's powered by a small, circular computer that hooks onto your belt. All the stuff that your smartphone does? It does that stuff, but it does it within your field of view. Instead of looking at your phone for email, you can project your email right into the world in front of you (where only you can see it).

After this week's big unveiling, we learned a ton about what Magic Leap is making. Here's everything we know so far.

First things first: This is an example of augmented reality, powered by Magic Leap's new device.

First things first: This is an example of augmented reality, powered by Magic Leap's new device.  (Magic Leap)

The idea is simple: Magic Leap intends to bring your online life into your real life.

In the image above, for instance, you can see a user scrolling through their Gmail account. In the lower right, you can see the time and date, and a battery meter for the headset.

Rather than looking down at your phone, or at your laptop (or whatever other computer device), you can straight up project that stuff into your field of view.

This entire setup — the glasses, and the circular thing on the left, and the controller on the right — is "Magic Leap One." It's an all-in-one augmented reality system.

At some point in 2018, Magic Leap plans to release the Magic Leap One augmented reality system. There's no price yet, nor is there a more specific release window than the entire year of 2018. We don't even know the specs of this thing yet.

What we do know is this: Magic Leap One combines a headset with a computer and a controller to enable augmented reality.

Sounds similar to Microsoft's HoloLens headset, right? That's because it's very similar to Microsoft's HoloLens headset.

The headset is called "Lightwear."

The headset is called "Lightwear."  (Magic Leap)

The Lightwear headset uses a mess of sensors and cameras to "see" the world around its user, thus enabling interaction with the augmented reality projected through the headset's lenses.

As the Magic Leap website says, the headset merges, "environment mapping, precision tracking and soundfield audio." What that means in practice is whatever you see in the world through the glasses can be interacted with.

For example:

Magic Leap  (Magic Leap)

In the example above (from Magic Leap), a user has our solar system projected in the world in front of them. The glasses have sensors and cameras that see the user's hands interacting with the projection.

It's not actually clear if the Lightwear headset can track hands, but this example certainly gives that impression.

(Of note: Since the other user in this example isn't wearing a headset, she wouldn't be able to see what the user here is seeing. She'd just see a person wearing glasses while waving their hands in the air.)

This is the "Lightpack" computer that powers the Magic Leap One system.

This is the "Lightpack" computer that powers the Magic Leap One system.  (Magic Leap)

Though the headset itself is likely to have some processing, the computer that powers the headset is actually separate. It's called the "Lightpack" and it can be clipped onto a pocket or belt, as seen above. Two wires lead out of the back of the headset, which combine into a single wire that plugs into the pack.

Again, we have no idea of the specs here — the computer is powerful enough to enable augmented reality, but that's all we know. Magic Leap vaguely says the computer is capable of, "high-powered processing and graphics."

The controller doesn't have a name. It's the main form of interaction with Magic Leap One's augmented reality.

It might look like one big button, but the large black circular area is actually a haptic touchpad. That means it's a touchpad (like the one on a laptop) and it gives feedback through vibration.

It may sound simple, but those two things — combined with the ability to click the button — enable a wide range of inputs. The Magic Leap One controller is similar to the HTC Vive controller in this way, although it has blessedly fewer buttons.

The light ring around the main button is likely to enable tracking, so the headset's sensors can "see" the controller. Additionally, the controller has motion tracking.

Magic Leap's calling its first launch, "Day One."

The room you see here is yet another example of how Magic Leap's AR system works. The chairs and table and shelving are all real things, in the real world, whereas the weather and planet and satellite are all being projected into the world (for the person using the headset, at least).

But Magic Leap has far more ambitious goals for its first headset.

This massive jumbotron being projected into the night sky above a group of cheering fans, for instance.

Magic Leap envisions various instances of people using AR both by themselves and with others.

The unifying theme tying all of these examples together is that Magic Leap One will replace the screens in your life.

For instance, instead of gathering in a living room to watch a basketball game together, Magic Leap envisions people getting together outside and watching on a floating jumbotron in the sky.

A better example might be this solar system projected into the world — a much better way to explore a 3D image than seeing it on a flat screen.

Since you can walk around (and through) the image projected into the world in front of you, exploring 3D objects — like the solar system — is especially cool in augmented reality.

It's also easy to imagine using the Magic Leap One system to, say, watch TV on a massive screen. Like this:

Magic Leap offers this example on its website, which seems a lot more realistic (if hectic).

There are, of course, shopping applications. Imagine being able to see the bag you're about to buy, for instance:
